Perhaps no one in the annals of The Topeka Capital-Journal was better-loved and better-read than Zula Bennington Greene.

Now, 24 years after her death, her book titled Peggy of the Flint Hills: A Memoir is being published by Woodley Press, of Topeka.

The book will be introduced next month with special readings by Washburn University English professor Eric McHenry and Dotty Hanger, Greene’s daughter.

The events will take place at 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at Mabee Library on the Washburn University campus, near S.W. 19th and MacVicar, and at 3 p.m. Dec. 8 in Marvin Auditorium at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, 1515 S.W. 10th.
